it’s friday

Oh yes it is, and I’m feeling good. Things have been pretty busy around here lately, but it’s definitely time for an update. I’ve continued to play Champions and I’m still enjoying myself. I’ve found, for whatever reason, that I’m becoming more of a PvPer all the time. Back in my WoW days, it was something I rarely dabbled with before the level cap, and even after I hit 60, I would only join the battlegrounds for rep grinds. Maybe it was WAR’s PvP gameplay that expanded my mind. Whatever the reason, I find myself queueing for UTC matches in Champions all of the time. It can be frustrating (teleporters…GAHHH), but I usually end up enjoying the matches. It’s certainly different from the PvP if experienced in other MMO’s. Teamwork is honestly a must. If you happen to get singled out and double/triple/quadruple teamed, it’s over. One on one’s though are very tough. If it doesn’t end up being a complete stalemate, a duel can easily last over a minute. Like I said, certainly different.
I’ve also been playing good old Wii. I’ve spent a good amount of time with Mario Kart Wii. I really enjoy using the wiimote to steer the cars. I played 4-player the other day for the first time, which was also fun aside from the fact that my old ass 20″ TV made us sit about 6″ away from the screen. *Mental note…need new TV* As always, I love unlocking things, so the grind to get all the characters and vehicles is enjoyable.
As for the future, I’m looking at 2 games right now. First is New Super Mario Bros. Wii. This game just looks like loads of fun. Four players in classic side-scrolling glory? Yes please. Second is Borderlands. This game is looking better all the time. I’m such a sucker for RPG’s and FPS’s have grown on me over the years. The whole “skill” thing is definitely appealing. Put the too together and I’m hooked! I have to say the co-op element is enticing as well. After playing Left 4 Dead, co-op left nothing but a positive impression. I enjoy nothing more than sharing my gaming experience with friends. All I have to do now is endure the 2.5week wait…I can do it…I can do it…

I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of Borderlands.
